How We Deliver It

Skill Development, Not Fighting

Every session focuses on technique, pad work, bag work, and fitness drills. Boys learn the fundamentals of boxing : stance, guard, footwork, coordination, while also developing emotional regulation, discipline, and teamwork.

There is no full contact sparring. Instead, boys build confidence through skill mastery, safe practice, and structured challenges.

Why This Program is the Gold Standard

Why This Program Is the Gold Standard

The Teen Boys Program isn’t just about boxing it’s about shaping young men who can lead with strength, empathy, and integrity.

Led by Steve Moxon, a two time World Champion fighter and nationally respected youth mentor, and Lena Moxon, a qualified educator and Child & Adolescent Mental Health Practitioner, this program brings together elite sport, trauma informed practice, and real world leadership.

Their combined expertise has influenced schools, youth centres, and wellbeing strategies across the region, positioning Geelong Boxing Club as a leader in socially prescribed, evidence based youth development.

This is not a fight gym.
It’s a structured, research informed environment where movement becomes a vehicle for personal growth, delivered by coaches who model the very qualities they teach.

Through boxing as a vehicle, we deliver:
âś… Safe, structured training with no full contact sparring,
âś… Mentorship and positive role models,
âś… Evidence based youth development (PYD),
âś… A strong sense of community and belonging,
âś… Clear Rights & Responsibilities to ensure a safe and respectful culture.

Community, Belonging & Monthly Workshops

Training together fosters trust, communication, and a sense of belonging.
Our teens take part in monthly Beyond Boxing Workshops featuring guest mentors and facilitators from across Australia who explore leadership, wellbeing, and connection.

These experiences strengthen personal insight and expand the network of positive influences surrounding our young men,  building connected, confident, and community minded leaders for the future.

All teens are expected to uphold Geelong Boxing Club’s Rights & Responsibilities, which ensure every session remains safe, respectful, and growth-focused.

All teens must understand and adhere to Geelong Boxing Club’s Rights & Responsibilities within their sessions. These guidelines ensure that every participant contributes to a positive, respectful, and safe training environment. By committing to these expectations, teens can get the most out of their training while fostering personal growth, discipline, and resilience.

Join the Gold Standard in Youth Boxing & Wellbeing

The Teen Boys Membership isn’t about competition, it’s about development.
Every session is built around our four pillars: Train • Learn • Belong • Grow.

It’s where young men train their bodies with world-class coaching, learn to regulate emotion and focus attention, belong to a community built on respect and trust, and grow into capable, confident individuals ready to lead themselves and support others.

This is where movement becomes mentorship and where boys become young men grounded in purpose, strength, and character.
